Our Mission

At The Calming Canvas, our mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging sensory gym for all children ages 1-10 with special focus to children with autism, ADHD, and other sensory disabilities. Inspired by my son Christian Henderson, who was diagnosed with autism and ADHD at age 6, I, Brittany Coleman, am dedicated to providing a space where kids can explore, play, and grow through sensory activities tailored to their unique needs. I strive to foster confidence, joy, and development in every child. My goal is to support both children and their families, offering a compassionate and empowering environment for growth and connection.

  • Yes, our staff members are highly trained in working with children who have autism and sensory processing challenges. We strive to provide a caring, supportive environment for all children.

  • We prioritize the safety of every child, including having secure entry systems, child-proofing all play areas, and maintaining a low staff-to-child ratio to ensure close supervision. All staff are trained in first aid and sensory de-escalation techniques.

  • Members receive unlimited 2-hour play sessions, with one session per member child, per day during available open-play hours. Please check our Hours & Upcoming Events page before visiting.

  • Yes! There is no long-term contract or cancellation fee. If you cancel after your monthly payment has been processed, your membership remains active through the end of your current paid billing period and will not renew.

  • Each member child receives one free qualifying snack per visit, and active members receive 5% off eligible birthday party bookings. Additional member-only perks may be offered throughout the year.
