The equipment we use at The Calming Canvas includes (subject to change based on visit requirements, etc.):

  • Calming Corner

    A quiet, peaceful area with soft seating, weighted blankets, calming lights, and noise-canceling headphones to help children relax when they feel overwhelmed.

    Equipment: Bean bags, sensory lighting, weighted blankets, bubbles, and fidget toys.

  • Tactile Exploration

    Allows kids to engage with different textures and materials to stimulate their sense of touch.

    Equipment: Sensory bins filled with rice, kinetic sand, water beads, soft fabrics, textured mats, and squishy toys.

  • Swing and Movement Zone

    Helps children with vestibular (balance) needs by providing movement-based activities.

    Equipment: Therapy swing, Boundex cuddle box, rocking chairs, and balance chair.

  • Visual Sensory Zone

    A visually engaging area for kids who are stimulated by colors and movement.

    Equipment: Bubble tubes, fiber optic lights, and kaleidoscopes.

  • Gross Motor Play Area

    Encourages physical activity and coordination, improving motor skills in a controlled environment.

    Equipment: Climbing wall, obstacle courses, tunnels, and large building blocks, Legos.

  • Fine Motor Skills

    Helps develop hand-eye coordination and dexterity with hands-on activities.

    Equipment: Puzzles, slime, and Play-Doh.


  • Sensory Art Station

    A creative space where children can explore different art mediums and express themselves.

    Equipment: Canvas, and paint.

  • Auditory Exploration

    Helps children engage with sound in a controlled and enjoyable way.

    Equipment: Musical instruments like Piano mats, xylophones, and sound panels.

  • Proprioception Station

    Provides deep pressure activities to help kids feel grounded and aware of their bodies.

    Equipment: Weighted vests, therapy balls, and heavy work activities.

  • Social Interaction Zone

    A space for guided social play to help children practice communication and social skills.

    Equipment: Group games, role-playing activities, and turn-taking toys.

    Description:

  • Sensory Pea Pod

    Description:
    Provides gentle deep-touch pressure (DTP) to create a comforting hug-like sensation that helps children feel calm, secure, and regulated while supporting relaxation and focus.

  • We prioritize the safety of every child, including having secure entry systems, child-proofing all play areas, and maintaining a low staff-to-child ratio to ensure close supervision. All staff are trained in first aid and sensory de-escalation techniques.

  • Members receive unlimited 2-hour play sessions, with one session per member child, per day during available open-play hours. Please check our Hours & Upcoming Events page before visiting.

  • Yes! There is no long-term contract or cancellation fee. If you cancel after your monthly payment has been processed, your membership remains active through the end of your current paid billing period and will not renew.

  • Each member child receives one free qualifying snack per visit, and active members receive 5% off eligible birthday party bookings. Additional member-only perks may be offered throughout the year.
